Chairman’s Message

It is my great honour, as my first year as Chairman, to welcome you all to Aboyne Highland Games on Saturday 5th August 2023.

We are delighted to present a comprehensive schedule of some 102 in field events starting at 10.30am. We welcome our colleagues and friends from the Showmen’s Guild who will host an extensive fun fair for all the family to enjoy. We have a wide range of stalls and food outlets to cater for all throughout the day including an option within our main marquee.

Our Chieftain, The Most Honourable The Marquis of Huntly will welcome a very special guest at 12.00 am, The Right Honourable the Lord Lyon King of Arms, followed shortly thereafter by the amazing sights and sounds of the parade of the massed pipe bands.

We are honoured to have two of the Clans, the Burnetts and Irvines, choosing our beloved Games to celebrate significant milestones in their long histories, with ceremonies taking place in the unique Clan Village.

Once again we are delighted to host solo pipers, dancers, fiddlers, light and heavy event athletes and our six mile hill race mid-afternoon, which is always popular.
